"Si Radikal" Harley-Davidson Unorthodox

Sebuah ubahan radikal coba untuk ditampilkan builder kawakan Charlie Stockwell dari Wars HD asal London, Inggris. Wars HD merupakan diler Harley tertua di Eropa. Dengan mengusung gaya Neo-Vintage mereka menjuluki motor ini sebagai Harley-Davidson Unorthodox. Perpaduan gaya jadul dan modern melebur menjadi satu pada konsep motor ini.

Dalam penggarapannya, motor yang berbasis Harley-Davidson Fatboy ini langsung "ditelanjangi" Stockwell hingga menyisakan mesin dan sasis. Kemudia ia mengganti tangki asli dengan model kastem. Tangki yang pakai menyerupai model peanut dimana model seperti ini sangat populer di era 70-an. Jok solo karbon menjadi pilihan pada motor ini. Tampilan semakin terlihat ekstrim kala posisi jok dibuat sangat rendah bahkan sejajar dengan ban dan mesin.

Untuk kaki-kaki, Stockwell mempercayakan shock spek MotoGP dari Ohlins dan dipadu segitiga kastem bikinan CNC serta sistem pengereman seperti kaliper monoblok dari Brembo. Velg kastem model palang delapan berukuran gambot semakin membuat kekar HD Unorthodox.

Tampilan semakin garang dengan dibalurnya mesin 113ci Screamin Eagle HD dengan cat hitam glossy. Melengkapi gaya balap, setang jepit yang dilengkapi kontrol Performance Machine dipakai untuk menjinakkan roda yang dilapisi ban Metzeler. Tampilan unik dapat dilihat pada model knalpot kembar dengan lapisan karbon yang menganut sistem high-low. Satu rendah dan satunya tinggi. Wess...! Harley-Davidson milik Michael Schumacher, pembalap F1 legendaris nongol di Jogja Bike Rendesvous beberapa waktu lalu. Jelas langsung diserbu pengunjung yang penasaran ingin melihat lebih dekat. 

“Sori ini bukan motor asli milik Schumacher, tapi replika 1:1 pesanan khusus dari customer bengkel saya,” buka A’an yang punya nama asli R. Rudianto, builder asli Jogja yang membesut nama bengkel Sinten Remen.

Kalau diamati, H-D custom yang basicnya diambil dari mesin Softail generasi EVO ini detailnya dibuat sama persis dengan H-D milik Schumi.

“Cuma mesin saja yang beda, H-D Schumi mengusung mesin lawas tipe Shovelhead lansiran 1981,” ujar builder yang buka work shop di Jl. Adiyaksa No. 13, Yogyakarta ini.

A’an mengaku customernya ini memang pecinta H-D dan juga fans berat Michael Schumacher. Makanya begitu pembalap yang 7 kali jadi juara dunia balap jet darat alias F1 bikin H-D custom, langsung juga dia mau bikin motor yang sama.

Untuk membangun besutan yang oleh Schumi diberi nama Speed Boys Special ini seluruhnya dikerjakan bengkel Sinten Remen. “Biar detailnya mirip, kami sebelumnya kumpulkan literatur gambat asli motor dari majalah dan internet,” urai A’an yang menagani proyek ini.

Ubahan motor custom yang menganut style bobber ini memang punya ciri khusus. Seperti untuk pemilihan rangka sengaja mengacu pada besutan classic yang mengusung model hard tail dan fork depan cangkarang.


Sedangkan untuk sepatbor, sengaja dibuat minimalis layaknya besutan custom era tahun 60-an. Oleh A’an mulai dari ubahan rangka yang model hard tail, tangki, fork depan springer seluruhnya dibuat mirip.

“Malah pemilihan grafis dan warna untuk cat juga ikut dibikin sama dengan aslinya,” jelas A’an sambil menunjuk ke tulisan MS yang ada pada bagian tangki.

Enggak hanya itu, untuk lebih mencirikan kesan Ferarri sebagai besutan Schumi saat balap F1 selain pemilihan warna merah juga diembos logo kuda jingkrak pada bagian jok yang model single sitter. 

Untuk pemilihan roda sama-sama diaplikasi ring 16 inci dengan lebar 3 5 inci khas besutan bobber. Biar mirip dengan aslinya, dia mengambil itu dari stok H-D lawas tipe Duo Glide.

"Kebetulan di bengkel ada stok pelek standar H-D lawas ini, makanya bisa langsung di pasang," terang A'an yang mengawinkan dengan ban yang juga berprofil klasik.

Cuma lantaran pakai mesin generasi Evo, pemilik motor enggak pede bila mengaplikasi sistem pengereman teromol seperti motor milik Schumi. Makanya oleh A’an sistem pengereman sudah aplikasi disc brake. “Rem disc brake depan dan belakang ini merupakan copotan dari stok H-D,” urai A’an lagi. 

Satu hal lagi yang membedakan kalau motor Schumi untuk mengaktifkan mesin harus melalui kick starter. Sedangkan H-D replika garapan Sinten Remen ini sudah lebih canggih. Yakni, sudah mengaplikasi model elektrik stater. Tinggal pencet langsung gruuunngg...!
